Infant & Child CPR    

Less than 1 year old
Same as for adult except:
1. Seal your mouth over the baby's mouth and nose when ventilating
2. Use 3rd and 4th finger of 1 hand to give chest compressions
3. Compress the chest 0.5-1 inch (1-2 cm) (less deep than a child)
4. Compression to ventilation ratio is 30:2 (30 compressions, 2 breaths)
Healthcare providers should use a 15:2 ratio if there are 2 rescuers

Do not overtilt the baby's head when you open the airway and give small breaths when ventilating the baby's lungs

1-8 years old
Same as for an adult except:
1. Use 1 or 2 hands while doing chest compressions
2. Compress the chest 1-1.5 inches (3-4 cm) (less deep than for an adult)
3. Compression to ventilation ratio is 30:2 (30 compressions, 2 breaths)
Healthcare providers should use a 15:2 ratio if there are 2 rescuers

If you are alone it is better to do 1 minute of CPR and then go get help when dealing with a child or infant
